Mia's POV :
The baby was taken from me before I even had a chance to breastfeed her for the first time. I couldn’t hold her; I could only hear her cries and watch as the nurse carried her away.
My cries of pain filled the room.
“Alpha, this is too much for her. You should give her some time to rest. She can’t get pregnant again anytime soon.”
The pack doctor, Dr Joseph, tried to persuade Logan to give me a break from pregnancy.
“How long?” That cold voice crept through my body like ice.
“Give her three years, then prepare for the birth of the fifth child. Her body hasn’t fully recovered from the previous miscarriage of the twins, and this fourth birth has further strained her womb.”
“That’s too long. Her body is meant for reproduction. That’s why the fertility potion was given to her. Don’t waste the pack’s resources given to you and Mia. The fifth child must still be born soon.”
I glanced at his figure leaning against the wall; my teeth chattered as I looked at him, filled with pain.
My body is still in agony—my blood hasn’t even dried yet!
Our gazes met briefly. His face looked startled for a moment. Something like guilt flashed across his eyes, but it vanished as quickly as lightning, as if that guilt had been nothing but an illusion.
"Make sure she’s back on her feet. I’m going to see Luna to tell her about Lily’s birth. She always gets sad whenever the kids are born.”
Every time I give birth to a child, Logan comforts Olivia and showers her with the finest gifts as if he were the one enduring the suffering—not me, who has repeatedly faced death to ensure an Alpha’s offspring is born safely into the world.
A bowl containing a dark, thick black potion was thrust in front of my face.
“I’m sorry, Mia… but you have to drink this. Your body will recover quickly, and it will ease the pain of childbirth. Then you’ll prepare for the birth of your fifth child.”
“I’ll drink it,” I gritted my teeth, trying to suppress the nausea in my stomach. Taking the drink, I downed it in one gulp.
I drank it only so my body would recover quickly and I could get out of this place—which felt like a hellhole that would swallow me alive—and then take my mother away.
“All right. You need to rest.” Dr Joseph took the empty bowl and left my room, followed by several other nurses.
It’s only because Luna is infertile that this role as a breeder has been forced upon me.
Everyone thinks Logan Sinclair, the Wildfire Pack Alpha, famous as a multi-billionaire businessman in South America, loves his mate, Olivia Wright, so deeply.
Yet, no one knows that I am his true fated mate.
On my 18th birthday, I discovered that Logan was my fated mate, chosen by the Moon Goddess.
Yet all I received was a cold stare and rejection from Logan. The next day, Logan brought another mate, Olivia Wright, and immediately made her Luna.
Olivia was shot by a bullet coated in silver poison while saving Logan.
The poison had damaged her womb.
The pack elders and Madam Freya would not accept a barren Luna, and argued with Logan to choose another Luna.
Olivia offered to accept an omega to serve as a breeder and bear her husband’s children.
She specifically chose me, and then the role of breeder was forced upon me by Logan at Olivia’s request.
At that time, after being rejected by Logan, I decided to leave the pack and take my mother to another country for treatment.
When the decision fell to me, I was trapped in the pack and desperately begged Madam Freya to persuade Logan to choose someone else.
Madam Freya sighed, but her reply was as cold as her son’s. “Consider this payment for raising you. If you refuse, I’ll withdraw your mother’s medical support. Your mother won’t have a chance to live.”
My heart shattered into pieces. What would I do without my mother?
My mother’s smiling face filled my mind.
To fulfil my silly dream of becoming a female astronaut, my father worked twice as hard, and my mother sold her wedding ring to buy me science books. They never revealed that they couldn’t fulfil my dream.
An accident took my father away, and I can’t let go of my mother—the only family I have left in this world.
“I’ll accept it. Please make sure my mother gets the best care.”
Madam Freya promised to set me free, provided I managed to bear five children for Alpha Logan.
I swallowed my pride, doing everything I could to seduce Logan and lure him into my bed so I could get pregnant as soon as possible.
The pack saw me as the third wheel between the Alpha and Luna, and ostracised me.
Even Logan believed my actions were deliberate—intended to hurt his Luna—as revenge for his rejection.
Every night when he pinned me down, he was rough and cruel, whispering his words of disgust at me.
Gone was the older brother who had promised to look after me after my father’s death.
All I saw was disgust whenever he looked at me. Yet, he never failed to come to my room.
In five years, only four children were born safely in succession.
I had suffered a miscarriage during my first pregnancy and lost twins at seven months. That miscarriage had devastated my body. Dr Pack warned that the next pregnancy would take my life.
If I had to give birth to a fifth child, I doubted I could survive to see my mother wake up.
My mother might feel guilty for the rest of her life when she woke up and saw her only daughter had died for her sake.
I have to find a way out of here.
Even before my postpartum period was over, Logan kept coming into my room, insisting that our fifth child must be born soon.
To appease his Luna, after spending the night in my bed, Logan ordered me to serve Olivia as a maid every day at her residence and accept any punishment.
A bucket of cold water was poured over my body.
“Get on your knees!”
My body shivered as I stared at Olivia, who was sitting on the sofa surrounded by her servants.
My body hadn’t fully recovered yet, and I hesitated to kneel.
Olivia’s expression grew darker. Then, suddenly, one of her maids kicked my leg, forcing me to kneel before Olivia.

“While I was busy taking care of your illegitimate children, you were seducing Logan and luring him into your bed, even though you just gave birth three weeks ago! You shameless woman!”
“I didn’t lure him. Logan… I mean, the Alpha came to me.” I groaned in pain.
A hard slap landed on my cheek, its sound echoing throughout the room.
‘Mia, we can’t stay silent anymore!’ my wolf, Lena, growled in my mind.
I closed my eyes and took a deep breath, calming my angry wolf. ‘Calm down; defying Luna will only get us a much harsher punishment.’
Out of the corner of my eye, Logan paused briefly at the door but didn’t come in to stop his Luna from venting her anger.
He walked away as if he hadn’t seen a thing.
I hung my head. I’d learned that no one in this pack would stand by my side.
“How dare you talk back! You’re a nobody, just a former maid’s child raised by the Alpha family. Don’t think Logan is coming to you because he wants you! That breeder position was given to you by me—it wasn’t Logan who wanted you!”
“I’m well aware of that, Luna Olivia.”
Olivia seemed to grow angrier at the tone of my voice. She grabbed a glass from the table to throw at me, but the sound of someone clearing their throat made her stop.
Her expression changed instantly, and she smiled at the arriving guest.
“Alpha Heir, what brings you here?”
“I just came to say hello and thank you for your hospitality, Luna Olivia. Am I interrupting your activities?”
“No, no, no. I was disciplining a disobedient maid," Olivia glared at me, signalling for me to stand up.
I stood up calmly and looked up, meeting the male guest’s gaze.
His eyes blatantly scanned a certain area of my body; something like lust flashed in his eyes.
I tried to cover my soaking-wet body, which clung to me like a second skin.
“She’s so beautiful. Who is this beautiful maid?”
“She is our pack’s breeder.”
“A breeder, huh? She must be very good.”
Olivia glanced at him briefly, then smiled sweetly. “If the Wildfire Pack no longer needs her, I’ll send her to the Moonstone Pack to be a breeder if you want her.”
“That would be great,” the man said with a broad smile, staring at my body with a leering gaze.
They were talking about me as if I were a piece of merchandise.
Hearing their conversation, I held back my emotions, but a tremor ran through me.
If I can't leave here permanently, I'll be sent to another pack when Wildfire Pack no longer needs me to reproduce.
No, I can't allow that to happen; I must leave Wildfire Pack.
“Luna, if there’s nothing else you need from me, I’m going to head back to work.”
Behind me, I heard John speaking to Olivia.
“She has a haughty temperament and doesn’t respect you, Luna.”
“Mia’s always been like that, thinking she’s so great just because she was raised in an Alpha family. She won’t last long in this Pack. I’ll make sure she becomes a breeder for another Pack.”
Luna’s words made my blood boil.
No, that will never happen. I have to get out of here before they ruin my life.
I went back to my room, took my phone out of the drawer, and called someone.
After a few moments, the call connected.
“Who’s this …”
“Alpha Asher, do you still remember me?”
There was a pause before a deep voice answered.
[“Yes, of course, I still remember you, Miss Klein.”]
Alpha Asher, of the Blackwood Pack. The strongest Alpha, feared by all packs in South America, and Logan’s rival and sworn enemy.
I saved him a few days ago when Logan took me to the Moon Temple. Alpha Asher had been severely wounded in an attack by another werewolf pack
I gave him the rare Moonflower Elixir, which only the Sinclair family possesses. The elixir was a gift from Madam Freya to heal my body after I miscarried twins, and I never imagined that it would now make Alpha Asher indebted to me.
“I want to collect on your promise to repay your debt.”
[“Yes, of course. What can I do to help?”]
"I want you to fake my death and move my mother out of the hospital. Make me die in front of Logan, so he believes he killed me and won't look for me or force me to have children anymore. After that, prepare a fake identity for me.“
[”Okay. But I need time.“]
”I'll give you until the Moonlight Birth Fest. You and your pack will be guests in the Wildfire Pack Territory. You have two week to prepare everything.“
The Moonlight Birth Fest is a tradition to welcome the birth of a werewolf child. Every pack holds a Moonlight Birth Fest every year.
[”Okay."]
Alpha Asher’s answer relieved me. I just needed to be patient and wait.
A few days later, various packs began arriving, keeping the maid busy arranging the guest rooms.
I did my best to avoid interacting with the guests, especially John Martinez, the heir to the Moonstone Alpha, and pretended not to know Alpha Asher to avoid arousing suspicion.
John suddenly appeared before me as I was crossing the western forest behind the packhouse.
“Alpha heir, what are you doing here? Shouldn’t you be hunting with the others?” I stared at him warily.
Logan invited guests from various wolf packs to hunt in the Wildfire Forest.
“That's boring. I'd rather do something fun with you here.”
John suddenly pulled me into a hug and kissed me forcefully on the lips. “I've wanted you ever since I first saw you.”
“Alpha Heir, let me go!” I growled, trying to break free from him in disgust.
“It seems the Wildfire Pack has treated you badly. If you come with me, I’ll make you my Luna. I’m a hundred times better than Alpha Logan.”
John laughed lustfully and began tearing at the front of my blouse.
A wave of disgust and rage surged through me, causing me to unleash my wolf claws and tear at his arm as I tried to push him away.
“Arrggg, damn it!” John cursed in pain.
I quickly stepped back, trembling, and reflexively covered the torn front of my blouse.
“What’s going on here?!”
Suddenly, Logan appeared along with several other pack members.
“Logan….”
“Alpha Logan! This woman was seducing me! She said she wanted me to take her away from the Wildfire Pack! I refused, and then she hurt me!” John shouted, pointing at me.
I looked at Logan and shook my head, trying to defend myself, “Logan, that’s not true! He started it and hurt...”
“John! My son!”
Alpha Martinez approached his son and saw the wound on his hand, then shouted angrily, "Alpha Logan! How are you going to take responsibility for this! Please discipline your Breeder! She's like a whore who can't resist seducing every man she sees! “
"Don’t worry, I’ll punish her!”
Logan’s expression was icy; his gaze pierced me like a dagger.
“Take Mia to the dungeon and lock her in there. Don’t give her anything to eat!”
Two pack members stepped forward and grabbed my arms.
“No! Let me go! Logan, please believe me! I didn’t do anything!”
I struggled as the two pack members roughly dragged me away.
No one cared. They all stared at me with accusing eyes, including Logan, the man who had spent years with me and shared hundreds of nights by my side.
My body was thrown onto the cold floor.
第3章
They left me alone in a stinking, damp, cold, pitch-black dungeon.
I’m afraid of the dark. I feel like I can’t breathe in the darkness, and all my senses go numb.
Logan knows I’m afraid of the dark, but he still locked me in a dark cell.
I cried out. “Get me out of here! Please get me out of here!”
No one came for two days. No one brought me food.
I curled up, hugging myself in the darkness, trembling with fear in my mind.
My body began to fail.
The image of my mother appeared in my mind.
I haven’t even visited her in the past five years. Logan and Madam Freya have kept me locked up in the pack. I don’t even know which hospital my mother is in.
My mother is the only reason I’ve endured all the oppression in this pack.
“Lena, I don’t want to die. I want to see my mother.”
“Calm down, Mia! They won’t let you die here. Please hang in there a little longer. Everything will be okay.” Lena calmed me down, then played back memories of my mother.
The image of my mother’s smiling face shone like sunlight in the midst of pitch-black darkness.
When I cried because of a nightmare in the middle of the night, Mom would rock me to sleep on her lap. Her gentle hands would stroke my head.
“Sleep, my little star. As long as I’m here, no one will hurt you.”
Tears streamed down my cheeks.
I have to get out of here, find my mother, and take her far away from this utterly repulsive Wildfire gang’s extortion.
That resolve is what keeps me going.
The cell door creaked open. The light of a torch dimly illuminated the dark cell.
Logan’s figure appeared in my line of sight. His face remained cold.
“Have you reflected on your mistake?”
I just stared at him blankly from the dirty floor.
Though I desperately wanted to scream at him, I knew better than to lose my temper if I wanted to get out of here.
I pretended to admit my mistake.
“I... I admit my mistake...”
After that, I lost consciousness.
When I woke up, I was already in my warm bed with an IV in my arm. Someone was holding me tightly from behind, whispering softly in a hoarse voice.
“Mia... as long as you stay by my side, I’ll never hurt you. You mustn’t leave this pack. I’ll give you anything you want.”
My eyes closed again. He only showed this tenderness when we were in bed, purely because he felt satisfied, not out of genuine affection.
Logan ordered the doctors and maids to take care of me until my body recovered and to stay by my side. He relieved me of my duty to serve Olivia.
He was so attentive, reminding me of my childhood.
I fell ill at the start of winter. Logan’s face was filled with panic then. He never left my side and cared for me himself, even skipping work.
A few days later, my body recovered.
Logan returned to his usual demeanour.
“Go cheer Olivia up. She’s in a bad mood because I’ve been taking care of you for days. Whatever she does to you, you have to endure it, understand?”
I bowed my head, answering indifferently. “Yes, Alpha.”
Before leaving, Logan suddenly pulled something out of his pants pocket and tossed it onto my lap.
“Wear this during the Moonlight Birth Fest.”
A ruby necklace, a family heirloom passed down through the Sinclair family.
I pursed my lips, ignoring the necklace on the table, began packing my belongings into a box, then sent it out discreetly and called Alpha Asher to ask for his help in retrieving those items.
***
Kneeling before Olivia, I pulled the basin to wash her feet.
“You must be so happy,” Olivia glared at me with eyes full of hatred. “I heard Logan talking to the pack elders about making you his second mate.”
My eyes widened as I stared at her. The blood seemed to drain from my face.
Logan wants to make me his second mate? To bind me to the pack forever?
No!
I shook my head. “I don’t want to be his second mate.”
“Don’t play dumb! You accepted that necklace! You must’ve loved showing off that necklace at the party, right? To tell everyone that Logan dumped me? Let me tell you, Logan only made you his second mate—and I’m still Luna!”
The wine glass in her hand was hurled at my face.
It shattered against my head. The thick mixture of my blood and wine felt warm as it trickled down the side of my head.
My hands clenched into fists, trying to restrain myself.
“Luna Olivia, I never wanted the position of Second Mate. If I could, I’d leave this place and never come back.”
“You want to leave this place? There’s only one way you can leave here.” Her eyes flashed with cruelty and extreme hatred toward me.
“I know a place that’ll welcome you with open arms: an omega auction house that specializes in breeding.”
My body tensed, staring at Olivia in disbelief.
“Are you crazy? Do you think you can sell people like goods? Does Logan know what you’re doing?!”
第4章
“Logan? He loves me. For my sake, he made the foster sister he raised into my servant. It wouldn’t be any different if I auctioned you off to an auction house.”
I clenched my fists and stood with a cold expression. “Take your crazy actions elsewhere. Even if you’re Luna Pack, I’m not your slave or this pack’s slave.”
I turned and walked away.
I’m done humiliating myself in front of Olivia. If I have to fight the entire pack and Olivia, I’ll do it rather than be humiliated at an auction like livestock.
Olivia’s expression was icy. She stood up and grabbed my hair from behind.
“I don’t need your consent. I have a way to make you obey like a slave.”
Before I could fight back against Olivia, the servants rushed to grab my arms and hold me down. They forced me to kneel in front of Olivia.
Olivia poured a liquid from a small bottle into my mouth and slapped my face. “Be a good slave if you want to stay alive.”
My head began to spin. My vision grew blurry.
I shook my head vigorously to shake off the effects of the anesthetic.
Olivia was going to smuggle me into the auction house without anyone knowing if I lost consciousness here.
‘Lena, I need your help.’
‘Gladly, Mia. I’ve wanted to teach that bitch a lesson for a long time.’ Lena roared.
In an instant, the room was filled with the maids' echoing screams as my wolf form roared, flinging their bodies one by one.
Olivia was shocked and furious.
The door burst open.
Logan appeared with a worried look on his face and shouted,
“Mia, stop!”
Due to the effects of the wine, I began to lose consciousness.
When I woke up, I was in the hospital, and Dr. Joseph’s face filled my vision.
“Mia, you’re awake.”
“Ugh….” I tried to sit up, but Dr. Joseph held my shoulders, pushing me back down.
“Stay lying down. The drug’s effects were so strong that you were unconscious for two days. Luna Olivia really went too far. The anesthetic she used could knock out an elephant.”
“Ahem.” Someone cleared their throat behind Dr. Joseph.
“Alpha,” Dr. Joseph greeted Logan. “I’ll leave the two of you alone.”
He then left, leaving Logan and me in the pack’s hospital ward.
Seeing that I was awake, the cold expression on Logan’s face softened for a moment.
“Mia, thank goodness you’re awake.” He paused for a moment, “What Olivia did… I hope you never bring it up with anyone. She didn’t mean to send you to an auction house. She was just joking. Don’t blame her, okay?”
“And don’t transform in front of Olivia. She’s having a panic attack. This is the last time I’ll forgive your werewolf ways.”
I covered my eyes with my hands, holding back a scornful laugh from escaping my lips.
All of Olivia’s misdeeds are considered minor mistakes, and Logan will always protect her.
My retaliation, however, will be seen as rebellion and blown out of proportion.
“Mia, are you listening to me?” Logan frowned.
I glanced at him, putting on a sweet smile. “Fine. I’ll never blame her. Even when she holds a knife to my throat, I’ll have to stay sweet and let her slit my throat. I get it—after all, this isn’t the first time.”
Logan tensed. “Mia, why are you being so sarcastic?"
“I’m joking. Please leave me alone.” I turned my back on him.
Don’t provoke him today.
I have to get out of here; it’s better to keep pretending to be submissive.
I felt his presence slowly retreat and disappear behind me.
The next day, Logan sent a lot of gifts to my room as compensation for Olivia’s actions. No apology.
“Miss Klein….” A maid slipped a small bottle into my hand as she delivered Logan’s gifts. She then left without saying a word.
I stared at her back suspiciously. I’d never seen her in the Wildfire pack. My gaze shifted to the small bottle containing a dark blue liquid.
Aconitum potion.
A potion that creates a false death for whoever drinks it, making their heart seem to stop beating for just two days.
It’s extremely rare.
The phone on the bedside table rang. A call from Alpha Asher.
第5章
I hurried to answer it.
[“Miss Klein, have you received the Aconitum potion?”]
“Yes. I received it from a servant.”
[“Good. Everything is ready. Your death will be staged during the Moonlight Birth Fest.”]
My heart was pounding with excitement; my hands clutched the bottle of Aconitum potion tightly, my last hope of escaping this place.
“Then, what about my mother?”
[“Your mother… I’m sorry, I haven’t found the hospital where your mother is being treated.”]
“I understand. I’ll figure out a way to find out where Madam Freya moved my mother. Logan must know which hospital my mother is being treated at.”]
“Who are you talking to?!”
Logan’s baritone voice made me jump in surprise; my phone slipped from my grip and fell to the floor.
Logan had been in my room for who knows how long.
“Who were you calling?!” he asked again in a cold tone.
“Just a friend.” I tried to stay calm. Secretly, my hand moved to hide the bottle of Aconitum potion in my pants pocket.
Logan picked up my phone from the floor before I could stop him. His eyes flickered with a suspicious look.
“Asher? Is he Alpha Asher from Blackwood?”
“Alpha Asher from Blackwood? How would I know that notoriously unsociable Alpha Asher? That’s the name of a former classmate of mine.” I lied without taking my eyes off him.
Logan stared at me for a long moment. “Your friend… why were you calling him? You rarely reach out to your friends.”
I looked at him, trying to recall how Olivia always managed to win Logan’s heart.
I had to ask Logan which hospital my mother was being treated at.
“Logan, it’s been so long since I’ve visited my mother. I really want to see her. So I contacted my friend to ask for his help checking on my mother.”
The suspicion on Logan’s face faded; he sighed and sat down beside me.
“If you want to see your mom, you just need to tell me. Don’t contact someone behind my back, even if it’s a friend.”
“Yes, I’ll always tell you whenever I miss my mom. So, can you take me to see her?”
Logan looked at me for a moment, then said, “Alright, I’ll take you to visit your mom tomorrow.”
I gave him a sweet smile, “Thank you, Logan.”
Logan was momentarily stunned, his intense gaze fixed on my face. “It’s been so long since I’ve seen you smile like this.”
He reached out to brush my lips, but pulled his hand back.
Logan kept his promise; he would take me tomorrow after the hunt with the pack’s guests.
I waited anxiously for him to finish the hunt, pacing back and forth in the Pack’s yard. I held back my urge to run into the forest in my wolf form.
“Humph!”
My eyes widened in shock as a rough hand suddenly clamped over my mouth from behind, pulling me away. They then threw me into the cold pond.
“Drown that slut! She’s a disgrace to the pack and our Alpha!” One of the servants sneered, pressing my head underwater before pulling it back to the surface.
I breathed a sigh of relief as I regained my breath. My eyes narrowed as I glared at Olivia, who was crouching in front of me.
“Olivia, what else do you want?”
Her hand swung, striking my face.
“Oh, you’re getting bold! Are you getting braver because Logan keeps giving you gifts?!”
I pressed my lips together, my teeth chattering from the cold pool water.
“Luna, the Alpha has always loved you. There’s no point in you always being jealous of me!”
Olivia grabbed my hair. “True, but his attention is always divided between you. Did you know that ever since your body suffered from the miscarriage of the twins, Logan has been searching everywhere for the Elixir Vitae?”
“Mia, this time you have to die. Logan won’t blame me if you die here. In the end, the most important person to him is still me, not the child of a former maid." She grinned cruelly.
She glared at me furiously, then whispered in a voice only the two of us could hear.
Olivia then stood up, glancing at the maid beside her before turning to leave. The maid nodded, then announced in a loud voice.
“Mia Klein seduced Alpha Logan to betray Luna, then tempted the heir to the Moonstone Pack. She wants to disgrace our pack. This shameless, disgusting whore must be drowned so she doesn’t disgrace the pack and tarnish our Alpha’s honor. Drown her!”
One of the maids grabbed my head, submerging me in the water. I couldn’t breathe. My chest ached as water began to fill my lungs.
Am I going to die here?
‘Mia, don’t give up! You have to stay alive!’ My wolf screamed in my mind, bringing clarity to my chaotic thoughts.
My eyes opened with determination. I shook my head with all my might, pulling the maid's hand that kept pressing my head down, then clawing at it with my wolf’s nails until she released her grip.
Suddenly, someone helped pull me up, allowing me to breathe again. I coughed, spitting water from my mouth.
“How dare you try to kill Mia!”
第6章
“Madam Freya!” The maids were terrified, then bowed in front of Madam Freya.
One of the maids replied anxiously. “Mia has tarnished the name of our pack. She seduced and slept with the heir to Alpha Moonstone, even though she is Alpha Logan's woman. Luna... Luna asked us to drown her as punishment. That is the punishment that should be given to a shameless adulteress.”
Madam Freya slapped the maid's face. “I raised Mia, I know exactly what she is like. She is not what you accuse her of! You... Go to the barracks to receive your punishment!”
The maids were terrified, then hurried away.
I felt Madam Freya cover me with her coat, hugging me as I shivered from the cold.
“Mia, my dear child... why have you become like this?”
I grabbed Madam Freya's hand and whispered pleadingly, “Madam Freya... ah, Auntie, please let me go. This place will consume me if I stay here any longer.”
“I know, everything will be fine...”
“No, no, nothing has been fine for the past five years. I...”
Madam Freya nodded reassuringly. “It's all my fault for forcing you to become a ‘breeder’ for the sake of the Alpha bloodline. You've suffered so much. But please hang in there. You still have to have a fifth child. I will make sure you get the best care and recover quickly so you can get pregnant again.”
I shivered, not because of the cold from being submerged in the icy pool, but because of Madam Freya’s soft, soothing words, which felt like a knife slicing through my heart.
In the end, Madam Freya was just like her son.
“Mia, do you understand?”
I forced a smile on my face.
“I understand, Madam Freya.”
Madam Freya smiled softly and stroked my hair. “Good girl, stay a little longer, the freedom I promised you, you will get it. I promise.”
Madam Freya escorted me to my room, then angrily called the maids.
“Call Olivia!”
Olivia was summoned immediately. I heard them arguing outside my room. I closed my eyes, ignoring their argument, and waited for the Moonlight Birth Fest to arrive.
But someone pulled me out of bed and choked my neck in the middle of the night.
My eyes opened, my breath almost cut off, then Logan released his grip and dragged me out of bed.
“Just because my mother is back, you complained to her and enjoyed having Olivia whipped in front of the maid!”
Logan didn't give me a chance to defend myself and dragged me out of my room.
In the middle of the night, wearing only thin clothes and still shivering from the cold, I was dragged to the main building and forced to kneel in front of Olivia's bed.
“Apologize to Olivia now!”
Olivia was lying in bed, her face pale and sobbing in pain. Her white nightgown had red streaks running down her back.
“Logan, it's not necessary... it's my fault for wanting to teach Mia not to tarnish the good name of the Pack and our pack,” she whispered weakly, her voice breaking as if she were dying.
I gave him a cold stare. “Why should I apologize? I didn’t do anything to her! Everything she says is a lie.”
”What did you say?!“ Logan snapped. ”Mia, if you don't kneel down and apologize to Olivia, I will forbid you from ever seeing your mother again and withdraw medical support for your mother!"
Logan's cold words made me panic. I gritted my teeth and knelt in front of Olivia.
“I'm sorry, it's all my fault. Please, let me see my mother. My mother can't live without medical care.”
Something flashed in Olivia's eyes. She coughed violently until blood spurted from her mouth.
“Olivia!” Logan ran anxiously to her bed. “Are you okay?”
“Logan,” Olivia called softly. "I'm in so much pain. So much pain... this is the first time I've felt whipped.“ She sobbed, leaning against Logan's chest.
Logan stared at me with a cold gaze. “Stay on your knees there until Olivia feels better.”
I took a deep breath, then replied, “Yes, Alpha.”
Olivia glanced at me with a sly smile from Logan’s chest. “Logan, stay with me tonight. I’m begging you... the full moon is coming soon.”
Every time the full moon arrives, Olivia feels pain from the silver poison she received five years ago.
“Alright, I’ll be by your side.” Logan sighed, then lay down on the bed and held Olivia tightly.
I lowered my head to look at the floor.
Just imagining my mother’s face is what’s keeping me going through all of this.
Logan finally let me go a few hours later after Olivia fell asleep.
I ignored the pain throughout my body and forced myself to go see Logan.
“Logan, can you take me there now? I need to see my mother….”
Logan shot me an annoyed look. “Fine, I’ll also take Olivia for a checkup at the hospital downtown since Dr. Joseph is on leave. Her wound got infected from those lashes.”
I wanted to argue, but I was worried Logan would get angry if I refused to go with Olivia, so I kept my mouth shut and followed him obediently.
Finally, we arrived at the famous private hospital.
When Logan and Olivia weren't paying attention, I secretly sent a message to Alpha Asher about the location of the hospital.
“Go ahead with Philip. He'll take you, I'll take Olivia to see the doctor.” Logan sent his Beta to take me, while he went with Olivia to see another doctor.
“Follow me.” Beta Philip treated me indifferently as he took me to one of the hospital rooms where my mother was being treated.
Beta Philip was standing guard outside. I took a deep breath to calm my nerves before opening the door to the hospital room.
One summer day, the window was open, and the breeze blew through her shiny black hair. The woman turned her head, waved from the bed, and smiled brightly.
“Mia, my little star, where have you been? I was so worried about you.”
Tears streamed down my face.
The woman in the bed was a shadow of the woman in my memory.
Her hair had turned white. Her body was much thinner than it had been five years ago.
She had fallen into a vegetative state after shielding me from the impact during that car accident.
Since then, her eyes have never opened. She has survived by relying on the medical devices attached to her body.
I knelt beside the bed and held my mother’s hand, pressing my cheek against her palm, feeling the warmth of her skin that I had longed for.
“Mom, how are you? I’m sorry I haven’t visited you for the past five years,” I whispered, filled with longing, as tears streamed down my cheeks.
“Mom, I couldn’t fulfill my dreams—are you angry? I’ve let you down and am no longer a source of pride for you.”
Silence.
I kissed the back of her hand. “I promise, Mom, one day I’ll take you to see a beautiful place.”
Suddenly, Mom’s hand moved, her fingers stroking my cheek. I blinked, looking at my mother’s face with hope.
“Mom, are you listening to me? Can you hear me?”
“Ah, so this is your mother, the one who made you survive as a breeder.”
Olivia's voice suddenly sounded behind me. I wiped my tears and stared at her sharply.
“What are you doing here?”
"I'm just curious about what your mother is like. Your mother has been like this for fifteen years. Don’t you feel sorry for keeping her alive in a vegetative state?” Olivia walked toward the EKG machine, her hands casually touching the medical equipment, while my heart pounded with alertness and anxiety.
I stood up and growled at her. “You've never experienced the loss of someone important, the only family member in the world, so you won't understand.”
"Ah, unfortunately, I don't want to understand. But I hate one thing... I hate that you're a breeder and cling to Logan like a parasite." She glanced at me with a cold look in her eyes as she held the ECMO (Extracorporeal Membrane Oxygenation) cable that was keeping my mother alive. She suddenly yanked the cables, knocking over other medical equipment and causing a sharp, deafening sound.
“What are you doing!” I rushed toward her in a panic, trying to stop her.
The alarm blared in the treatment room. My mother's body convulsed on the bed.
“Olivia!” I growled, pushing her aside and trying to reattach the medical device, then pressing the emergency button. “Mom, please hang in there...”
Olivia smirked, took the syringe, and stabbed her wrist.
“Arghh! Philip! Logan! Help me!”
The door burst open with a loud slam, Philip and Logan appearing at the entrance.
“What’s going on here?”
Olivia cried, running into Logan's arms. “Logan, I don't know what happened to Mia. I just told her to let go of her mother, but she suddenly went crazy and stabbed me with a syringe…”

At that moment, I wanted nothing more than to scratch her face and strangle her! I turned with red eyes and lunged at Olivia, who was still crying in Logan's arms. “You killed my mother!”
“Mia!” Logan grabbed me and threw me roughly to the floor. “I thought you were being nicer to Olivia, but it turns out it was just an act! Do you enjoy hurting people?”
“She's the one who hurt–”
The doctors entered and rushed to the patient's bed. “What's going on here?!”
I grabbed the doctor's leg, crying and begging. “Doctor, doctor, please save my mother. I beg you… my mother's hand is moving, she's going to wake up, doctor… I beg you, save her!”
“Stop!” Logan ordered coldly, stopping the doctors from putting the medical equipment back on.
Logan stared at me sharply. “Mia,you should apologize to Olivia!”
“I won’t apologize to her!She planned to kill my mother!”
“Fine, you keep lying and never regret hurting Olivia, even though you’ve done it repeatedly, right? Then don’t expect your mother to get medical treatment! Philip! Bring Mia back to the pack and lock her in the dungeon!”
“No! No! Logan, I’m sorry! I’m sorry! I beg you!”
I desperately crawled toward his feet, but Logan kicked me and carried Olivia out of the ward.
Beta Philip pulled my hand forcefully, dragging me out of the treatment room.
“No, no, I can't leave my mother!” I cried desperately amid my tears, looking at the confused doctors and my mother's body convulsing before finally stopping.
“Doctor, the patient… has passed away ....”
“What a shame.” The nurse covered my mother with a white sheet.
I cried my heart out.
My mother has passed away.
Her smiling face in my memory is now gone, covered in a white cloth.
Gone forever from a world where I can no longer see her.
“Mom! Arrghh!”
Philip didn’t care about my hysterics at all; he dragged me roughly like a piece of luggage.
Logan walked away, his back looking cold, while Olivia's sly smile peeked from behind his shoulder, as if announcing her victory.
My world collapsed right then and there. My mother died. And now, I was locked in a pitch-black underground prison. Lena's whispers no longer calmed me.
I felt like I was drowning in the thick darkness of the dungeon. This darkness no longer frightened me. All that remained was emptiness and a deep hatred for Logan, Olivia, the entire Sinclair family, and even this entire pack.
I pulled out my phone, shaking my hands, and texted Alpha Asher.
[It's all too late. Logan killed my mother. He killed my mother for his Luna.]
Alpha Asher's message came quickly.
I told him everything, about how Logan killed my mother, and that I wanted revenge.
Time seemed to freeze when his next message came in.
[I understand. I've arranged everything for your faked death at the dinner party. Once you're completely free from Logan's control, I'm willing to help you take revenge.]
Logan finally released me three hours early,as if to atone for his guilt. I was numb to everything. All I remember was Logan's whisper announcing my mother's death.
“Mia, if you hadn't hurt Olivia in the first place, your mother wouldn't have ended up like this.Let your mother go, she's been vegetative for fifteen years. This is her destiny.”
Destiny? That's nonsense!
My mother would surely wake up after all this time! But Olivia killed her. Logan killed my mother. And the pack, they were so indifferent at my mother's funeral.
My mother was cremated without a ceremony, that very day, to avoid bad luck at the Moonlight Birth Fest.
I stood there, my eyes red, watching my mother's body slowly turn to ashes, and I secretly vowed that one day I would get justice for my mother.
By then, I'll make Logan and Olivia beg me to let them go, crying their eyes out!

On the night of the Moonlight Birth Fest, the ballroom was magnificent, and the guests were dressed in their finest.
I stood in the corner of the party with a glass of champagne in my hand, The bottle of Aconitum potion was tucked neatly into my waist pouch.
Logan and Olivia, smiling, enjoyed the feast without a trace of guilt.
I wanted to burn their smiles. Burn this pack in the same fire that burned my mother to ashes.
But revenge isn't for now. Tonight, I must make sure I fake my death at Logan's hands so I can escape this place, escape my identity as a surrogate mother, and pave the way for my revenge.
Not far away, Alpha Asher,on the other hand, was chatting with his pack, nodding silently at me.
This was the signal we'd agreed upon, indicating that I needed to drink the aconite potion.
Once I finished the aconite potion, the "fake death" act that Alpha Asher had arranged for me would begin.
I quietly sipped the Aconitum potion.
After a few moments, I walk toward Logan and Olivia. The children have been taken to their rooms during the middle of the event. That makes me feel relieved.
“Alpha, Luna, good evening...”
The entire Moonlight Birth Fest hall suddenly changed. The melodious music was replaced by deafening noise.
Logan turned, startled, his eyes wide as he saw a group of Werewolf Hunters storming in.
They shouted, “Dirty wolves! Kill them all!”
They didn't hesitate and opened fire.
Shiny silver bullets flew in all directions, injuring many guests.
Several other Werewolf Hunters threw blue fireballs that instantly burned the decorations in the ballroom. Flames licked everywhere, creating terrible chaos.
In an instant, the pack of werewolves transformed and counterattacked.
Logan reacted immediately, pulling Olivia and me behind him, protecting us from the hail of bullets.
“Stay behind me!” he growled, his muscles tensing.
However, amid the chaos, a large, muscular Werewolf Hunter managed to slip through the crowd. He ambushed me from behind, grabbed my hand tightly, and pulled me away from Logan.
I struggled, trying to break free, but his grip was too strong.
Logan saw me being captured. His face paled, his eyes filled with rage.
“Let her go!” he roared, wanting to lunge forward, but the Werewolf Hunter held a silver knife to my throat.
“One more step, Alpha, and this woman dies!” he threatened.
“Argh! Logan, help me!” Olivia's scream caught Logan's attention.
At some point, another werewolf hunter had snuck up and captured Olivia. A silver knife was pressed against her neck.
“Alpha Logan,We need one of your women in exchange for the life of my sister, whom you killed five years ago! An eye for an eye, a tooth for a tooth.” The Werewolf Hunter behind me grinned, pressing the knife against my neck, causing blood to flow.
“Choose, Alpha. This woman, or your Luna?”
“I owe you nothing!” Logan stared coldly at Werewolf Hunter.
“Let go of my Luna.Take Mia instead...”
A slight bitterness welled up inside me,the difference between love and indifference was so obvious.
“Logan...” Olivia sobbed into his chest after being released by the hunter.
The hunter then said without letting go of me. “Back off!”
Several werewolf hunters retreated from the fight. The werewolf hunter behind me pulled me with him.
My eyes closed for a moment, Logan's indifference clearly appearing in my mind.
When the knife at my neck moved away for a moment, I bit the hunter's hand and elbowed him hard in the stomach, causing him to let go of me.
Logan's gaze turned sharp. Suddenly, with a roar of rage, Logan lunged at the Werewolf Hunter.
His movements were lightning fast, and his sharp claws were aimed at the Werewolf Hunter behind me.
Logan's speed was unstoppable, and I smiled slightly as I stood in front of him.
His claws pierced my stomach.
My vision turned red,and a sharp pain tore through my stomach.
The crowd fell silent, and the battle stopped as the Werewolf Hunter retreated. All eyes were on me as I lay sprawled on the ground.
Logan, his face pale and his eyes empty, stared at his blood-stained hands, his sharp claws piercing my stomach.
“No...” he whispered, his voice hoarse, as if the world had just collapsed before him.
I held back the pain in my stomach and pulled on Logan's suit collar. My voice trembled as I spat blood into my mouth.
“Logan...I hate you, I hope you die...”
The image of my mother's smile danced in my mind. Tears streamed from the corners of my eyes.
What he doesn't know is that everything happening now is a carefully orchestrated scheme by me and Alpha Asher.
I let myself die at his hands, so that he would believe I was truly dead.
One day, I will take revenge for my past, for the children who were separated from me,and for my mother.
One day, Logan will beg for the life he took from me.
